Adverse Community Environments

Childhood adversity or trauma are often rooted in community environments lacking equity which is driven by institutional racism.

These lived experiences continuously assault the developing minds of children and negatively impact their health leading to higher risk for mental health problems, early initiation of drug and substance abuse, school dropout, juvenile delinquency, risky sexual behavior and teen pregnancy.
